The Principality of Liechtenstein has an advanced services and
industry-based economy. Its central geographical location at the
heart of Europe between Austria and Switzerland together with
advantageous operating conditions make Liechtenstein an im-
portant European economic centre and one of the world’s most
highly-regarded financial centres.

The country extends over an area of 160 square kilometres, has
approximately 35,000 inhabitants, and provides employment to
around 30,000 people.
